For makeup artists, the more condensed kit the better. That means the lighter the packaging the less weight you are carrying with you from location to location. I finally decided to depot a bunch of nude lipsticks into a smaller air tight palette.
First I uncapped all lipsticks and organized them into similar color groups. I wanted the palette to look visually pleasing and see which products were similar when choosing which to use.
Next I used a metal makeup spatula to remove the lipsticks from the original packaging and transfer into a Vueset (Thaiti). The vueset is a clear plastic empty palette that is air tight and can be used for lipsticks, concealers, glitter, pigments or even cream eyeshadows.
Once all 24 lipsticks were depotted into my Vueset, I decided to label the back. That way when a color needs to be repurchased or when a client is curious what I used it is easy to check and see. I used my label maker to write down each brand and color.
